10 Ways Life Coaching and Yoga are Similar

10.  From the outside looking in, they both look like a walk in the park. In reality, they’re a serious butt/mind-kicking workout.

9.   Yoga poses are like coaching’s powerful questions. They challenge us to focus, be present, and see or imagine life from a different perspective. Headstand? Yes!

8.   On your mat or session, you engage with and face your whole self, including those thoughts screaming to be heard and those that need to be put in their place. Step aside inner critic!

7.   When approached openly and with curiosity, both yoga and coaching can transform you physically and mentally leaving you with increased resilience, a stronger core, renewed flexibility, and enhanced clarity.

6.   They both challenge you to notice comfortable and not so comfortable emotions. Nice to meet you, impatience!

5.   In yoga and coaching it’s all about you and your practice. You can learn from others, but on your mat and in your session, it’s all about trying it out yourself. Of course, you can!

4.   Yoga and coaching encourage you to stay open, challenge yourself, be curious, learn from failure, and explore what’s possible. Judgment? Right and wrong? Let them go!

3.   Both exercises connect you to your body’s deep whispers and gentle wisdom. Where do you feel it? Inhale, exhale, listen, repeat.

2.   Yoga and coaching are about being AND doing. Dreams without actions are just colorful ideas. Actions without dreams are dull executions.

1.   After either session, you’ll likely feel magnificently expansive, grounded, and joyfully alive...Maybe a bit sore too!
